PHOTOGRAPHING FLORIDA'S BIRDS
Florida has unique bird observation and photography
offerings. This all digital presentation takes you to on visits to three very
different locales in Florida.
The Venice Rookery is located in the middle of an urban area
behind the town's police station. It offers great opportunities to photograph
several nesting species including the great blue heron, snowy egret and anhinga.
One of my favorite locations is on the East coast not far from
Cape Canaveral. Here the Merritt Island wildlife drive provides opportunities to
photograph many shore birds in a more desolate setting. An occasional alligator
adds to the adventure.
Moving back across the state on the West coast is the famed
Ding Darling bird sanctuary. The location is best known for the very large white
pelican and the roseate spoonbill.
In addition to many images of birds, the program
includes a discussion of the equipment and techniques necessary to capture the
birds of Florida
